I’m Dawn and I have experienced years of trauma, substance use and other unhealthy coping behaviours, but I found recovery, rediscovered my passion for living and learned to thrive by following my dreams…

I am a Lawyer and trauma-informed Recovery Coach, and I am passionate about recovery and empowering other professional women to rebuild their lives. I did it and I can show you how to do it too.

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

—Eleanor Roosevelt

What was once my secret is now my story.

My recovery date is June 21, 1998, but my recovery is a life-long work in progress. In sharing my story, my greatest wish is to bring the message of hope and the promise of freedom from substance use disorder and other unhealthy behaviour patterns and maladaptive coping mechanisms. Anyone can change their life; no one is too broken to have a change of heart and find a new way to live. It is never too late to pick up the pieces and start again.

The first step is the hardest. Asking for help.

If you are struggling there is no shame in asking for help, your life matters. You don’t have to suffer alone in silence. Recovery is possible.

“You are allowed to be a masterpiece and a work in progress simultaneously”
